Colonial Boy has been welcomed by his many friends
throughout the world. Geoffrey has caught the bug and
he is busy on his second book, which will be about early
settlers in England before the Saxons.

Another novel on its way for George

Foster Leal has submitted his manuscript for his second
novel, Horses of the Sea, a pulsating fantasy adventure
set in Ireland and Scotland during the first century.
He is delighted with the cover Zoë
Farmer has designed. His first novel, Desire
Provoketh, the story of the Hudson Mutiny, is being
promoted in Canada.

It's the movies for Steven
|

Steven
Porter's second novel The
Senator's Son, has been published. It is a spy story
set during the cold war. Steven, who last November was
a candidate in the elections for Congress, is helping
with a campaign to publicise his first novel, Hannes
Klar in the USA. Work is already started on a screenplay
for a possible film.

Ged
Neary has returned from China, where he developed
interest in his book Rice
Ticket. Later this year he hopes to have completed
the manuscripts for his collection of short stories, Joint
Venture, which is again aimed at the Chinese community.

Michael on his travels again
|
|
|
Michael
Turner spent Christmas and the New Year holidays 'Draking'
in Chile and Peru. He came back with some interesting
photographs. The third volume of In Drake's Wake subtitled
The
Later Voyages; will be published later this year.
Michael has also launched a new "In
Drake's Wake" Web site with the tag line "The
world's best Drake resource".

Upon A Farm was printed in December and Jean's family
and friends have accounted for the sale of over 100 books.
It is hoped that the book will be featured in Lincolnshire
Life and Lincolnshire Pride magazines.

Country star signs his westerns

By the time he retired from his award winning country
music singing career in 2004 Mel
Hague had already started to carve out a new niche
for himself in fiction writing.
Several western novels and one horror novel later he
expected to be the first author to hold a signing at the
new branch of Ottakars
in Doncaster.

Meet 'Drake' author

Drake's Wake - The Early Voyages and In
Drake's Wake - The World Voyage will be giving a lecture
at the Family
History Roadshow organised by the Paramaount
Group of Hotels as part of its Special
Events programme.The event will be based at the Paramount
Imperial Hotel, Torquay and runs from 13th to 16th October
2006.
On the Saturday morning Michael, who has travelled the
world in Sir Francis Drakes footsteps, will give
a fascinating talk on Drakes life and afterwards
you will have the opportunity to visit Buckland Abbey
which was Sir Francis Drakes home.
Other speakers featured at the event include Dr. David
Starkey (Monarchy Channel 4) , Nick Barratt (Who Do You
Think You Are BBC2), Jonathan Foyle (History Mysteries
BBC2) and Eric Knowles (Going for a Song, The Antiques
Inspectors).

Noble stores

Steven
Porter will be signing his fascinating book Hannes
Klar in June at the branch of Barnes
& Noble in Erie,
PA. The exact date will be announced in due course.
Hannes Klar is the story of a young boy who, growing
up as a member of the Hitler Youth, becomes a Nazi soldier
and through the various events of his life redeems himself
for the atrocities he has committed. It is a work of fiction,
but it is based on a real person, a person who became
a friend of the author and provided the memoirs from which
the novel was written.
Subject to confirmation, Steven also hopes to be signing
his book at Barnes & Noble in Vestal,
NY.
